FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS

  WHAT'S NEW FOR PARENTS/STUDENTS

New Athletics and Activities Code of Conduct
  Image

Participation in athletic and extra-curricular activities is an important learning opportunity provided by Stafford County Public Schools. Participation in athletic and extra-curricular activities provides opportunity for students to apply what they have learned in a context beyond the classroom, particularly in the areas of communication, collaboration, and leadership.

The Stafford County School Board recently approved an Athletics and Activities Code of Conduct for our students, staff and fans. This code of conduct will be shared with our community, coaches, students and parents over the summer and throughout the school year.

Please keep in mind that participation in athletic and extra-curricular activities is not a right. Failure to meet expectations outlined in this document, as well as in School Board Policy and the Student Code of Conduct, will result in disciplinary action.

Work hard. Play hard. Represent us well!

Tip Hotline

Stafford Alert System

Stafford upgrades Community Emergency Alert System using a new vendor, Everbridge. Users will still receive alerts about different emergency-related situations including severe weather, natural disasters, traffic incidents and government and school closings. The new system will also offer Reverse 911, which sends automated phone calls to groups of people living in a specific geographic area, and enhanced mapping to allow messages to be sent to subscribers within defined or ad-hoc areas of the county. In addition, the new system will allows users to customize the alerts they want to receive and also lets them choose how they want to receive alerts whether by text message, email and landline.   Additional information can be found on the Stafford County website here.  If you have not re-registered for the new system, please register now.

Stafford County “YES” Youth Engaged in Stafford Program

Stafford County and Stafford County Public Schools are pleased to offer a program that seeks to engage our youth in local government.  The Youth Engaged in StaImagefford (YES) Program provides an opportunity for tenth through twelfth grade students to learn about county government while also giving youth a hands-on experience in the daily processes and decisions that make Stafford County a great community to live, work, and raise a family. As community members, your voice is an integral part of this process and Stafford County wants to hear from you!

You have two opportunities to be involved.  You can participate on a Board, Authority, Committee, or Commission, or you can become a member of our Youth Advisory Council that will work with the Leadership Team of the county on projects.  Say YES and become engaged in local government!
