2015 Cyber Security Awareness: 'Kids Safe Online Poster Contest'
Students in grades kindergarten through 12 are invited to participate in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s 2015 Kids Safe Online Poster contest. The contest is sponsored by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) in conjunction with the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC). This is a national contest which encourages our youth to use the Internet safely and securely.
Educating our children about the rules of Internet safety will encourage them to make better decisions when posting pictures, videos and personal information online.
The top three winning posters from Virginia for each grade group (K-5, 6-8 and 9-12) will be submitted to the national Multi-State Cyber Security Awareness poster contest. Additional information with the Official Rules and Entry Form please can be found at http://vita.virginia.gov/security/default.aspx?id=11232. Commonwealth of Virginia submittals must be received by January 7, 2015. Winners of the Virginia contest will be automatically submitted to the national contest.

Stafford County “YES” Youth Engaged in Stafford Program
Stafford County and Stafford County Public Schools are pleased to offer a program that seeks to engage our youth in local government. The Youth Engaged in Stafford (YES) Program provides an opportunity for tenth through twelfth grade students to learn about county government while also giving youth a hands-on experience in the daily processes and decisions that make Stafford County a great community to live, work, and raise a family. As community members, your voice is an integral part of this process and Stafford County wants to hear from you!
You have two opportunities to be involved. You can participate on a Board, Authority, Committee, or Commission, or you can become a member of our Youth Advisory Council that will work with the Leadership Team of the county on projects. Say YES and become engaged in local government!
