The eight county middle schools are home to over 6,500 sixth through eighth grade students. At the middle school level, teachers use a teaming approach, working together to plan instructional strategies across the curriculum. Some classes are taught in blocks -- students stay with the same teacher for more than one academic subject.
Stafford County views the middle school years as a time to prepare students for a smooth transition from the structure of elementary school to the more rigorous demands of high school. We offer our students the opportunity to choose from a variety of elective classes in art and music, technology, foreign languages, and drama. Middle school students also participate in athletic activities, clubs, and competitions. In addition, in the eighth grade, students may begin to earn high school credit in foreign language, math, and keyboarding. Middle School Program of Studies 2009-2010 |
