Our School Board

Programs and policies of the Stafford County Public Schools are established by an elected seven-member School Board representing the following districts: Aquia, Falmouth, Garrisonville, George Washington, Griffis-Widewater, Hartwood, and Rockhill.

The regular meetings of the Stafford County School Board are held at the Alvin York Administrative Complex usually on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month except November and December. Please see the 2009 Meeting Schedule for specific dates. All regular meetings are open to the public, and citizen participation is encouraged.

In an effort to promote communication, the School Board sponsors roundtable discussions with teachers, students, parents, and other groups identified by the School Board. The School Board also conducts special meetings during the year, including the annual budget presentation to the County Board of Supervisors. In addition, seven advisory committees provide recommendations to the School Board annually.
