Stafford School Nutrition is looking for interested applicants to fill current and planned job openings for the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 school year.  Individuals are to apply in person at 25 Wyatt Lane, Fredericksburg, VA  22406 between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:45 pm daily.   The starting wage is $9.62 per hour up to 10.90 per hour. Positions range from 4 to 6 hours per day.  Work schedules and locations are flexible.  Staff members participate in a high energy, clean and team work atmosphere.  Employees enjoy weekends, holidays, evenings, summers and inclement weather days off with their family. Stafford County School Earns LEED Certification and Three Schools Earn Energy Star Ratings

As part of the Stafford County Public Schools’ Energy Management and Sustainability programs, the division adopted the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) sustainability standards for new school construction and major renovations.

LEED is a certification program for buildings and communities that guide the design, construction, and operations and maintenance of facilities toward sustainability. It is based on prerequisites and credits that a project earns in order to achieve a certification level of Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum.  More....News Release 15-67
2016 Summer Arts Camps

Arts Summer Camps are open to students whose families are residents of Stafford County.  Students will explore topics in visual art, drama, and music through hands-on experiences. Camps are designed to be fun and educational; they are taught by licensed teachers from Stafford County Public Schools. Grade level for participants is grade level in September 2016. Dates, hours and tuition vary for each camp. Parents must provide transportation to and from the camp site at the stated times. Extended day services are NOT available and all children must be picked up on time at the conclusion of camp. Please indicate first, second or third choices, (per week) if desired. Payment must accompany registration; students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Camps may be canceled due to low registration. HEAD START/VIRGINIA PRESCHOOL INITIATIVE PROGRAM & EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM NOW ENROLLING

Stafford County Head Start/Virginia Preschool Initiative Program is now accepting applications for the 2016-2017 school year.  Head Start is a free, full-day preschool program, which offers children an exciting curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and an excellent teaching staff.  Transportation, meals and supplies are provided.  This program is open to children who are 3 or 4 years of age by September 30, 2016, live in Stafford County, and meet the federal income-eligibility guidelines.  The Early Head Start program is also accepting applications.  This program is a free federally funded program that serves low-income families of infants and toddlers and pregnant women.  Transportation is not provided. Enrollment in both programs is available to children regardless of race, sex, creed, national origin, or handicapping condition.  The Head Start program encourages the active recruitment of children with special needs.  If you or someone you know would like to know more about Head Start or Early Head Start, please call Head Start at (540) 368-2559 or Early Head Start at (540) 373-2072 for more information.
