4th Annual Stars in Science Showcase

Please join us as we celebrate our students that did an outstanding job at this year’s Piedmont Regional Science Fair and how our teachers are providing excellence in Science and STEM instruction daily.  The Stars in Science Showcase will be held, Thursday, April 17, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Stafford Middle School, 101 Spartan Drive, Stafford, VA.  Projects, programs, and clubs will be highlighted from participating K-12 schools.

Stafford County Head Start/Virginia Preschool Initiative Program is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015

Stafford County Head Start/Virginia Preschool Initiative Program is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 school year.  Head Start is a free, full-day preschool program, which offers children an exciting curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and an excellent teaching staff.  Transportation, meals and supplies are provided.  This program is open to children who are 3 or 4 years of age by September 30, 2014, live in Stafford County, and meet the federal income-eligibility guidelines.  Enrollment is available to children regardless of race, sex, creed, national origin, or handicapping condition.  The Head Start program encourages the active recruitment of children with special needs.  If you or someone you know would like to know more about Head Start, please call (540) 368-2559 for more information.
Welcome Dr. Bruce Benson, Superintendent of Stafford County Public Schools

On Tuesday morning, April 1st,  Dr. Bruce Benson was sworn in by Ms. Barbara Decatur, Clerk of the Circuit Court, as the new Superintendent for Stafford County Public Schools. His wife Barbara, their children and grandchildren attended the ceremony.  Members of the School Board; Nanette Kidby, Holly Hazard, Dana Reinboldt and Scott Hirons, and Meg Bomke, Board of Supervisor from the Falmouth District, and administrators from the school division also attended the event.  Welcome Dr. Benson!






Stafford County School Board Approves Inclement Weather Make-up Plan

The School Board at its meeting on March 11, 2014, approved the following plan to make-up days missed due to inclement weather.

No early release for elementary on April 18, May 23, June 11, and June 12
Early release for middle and high schools on exam days, June 11, June 12, and June 13.
 Full day of instruction for all grades on April 18 and May 23.
Attend on make-up day April 4
Early Release for all grades on June 13, 2014, last day of school.
